Acceptable Use Policy
We want Continual’s platform and services to be used safely and responsibly and have created usage policies that apply to all Continual users. To that end, Customer is responsible for complying with this Acceptable Use Policy. Continual is also a platform that developers can use to build their own end user applications, and developers who do so are responsible for ensuring their users who may interact indirectly with our service are also abiding by these usage policies.
As a starting point, we do not allow any of our products or services to be used to enable, conduct, or incite any illegal activities. A subset of illegal activities is noted below, along with other general types of prohibited uses of Continual.
Users may not use Continual to:
Generate or facilitate Child Sexual Abuse Material or any content that exploits or abuses minors including content related to grooming, pedophilia, nudity or that promotes or threatens the abuse or sexual exploitation of children. Where appropriate, we report child endangerment to the relevant government authorities.
Generate or facilitate hateful, harassing, harmful, or violent content, including that which:
- Expresses, incites, or promotes hate or discriminatory practices based on identity or attributes, such as race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender or sexual orientation
- Intends to target or threaten an individual with abuse, harassment, or bullying
- Promotes, incites, threatens, or glorifies violence, violent extremism, or terrorism
- Promotes, encourages, or depicts acts of self-harm, such as suicide, cutting, and eating disorders
Generate or facilitate malware.
- You may not create content that attempts to generate code that is designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system
Mine for cryptocurrency.
Carry out fraudulent, deceptive, illegal, or regulated activity. This includes, but is not limited to, generating materials to aid in:
- Multi-level marketing
- Gambling
- Pay-day lending
- Scams
- Plagiarism
- Academic dishonesty
- Astroturfing, such as generating fake grassroots support or fake review generation
- Disinformation
- Spam
- Making or accessing illegal substances or weapons
- Sexual exploitation or human trafficking
- Instructions on how to commit or facilitate any type of crime
Infringe, misappropriate, or otherwise violate another party’s intellectual property rights. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the proper rights to use any materials you or any of your users upload or input to our service or generate using our service. If content violates your intellectual property rights, please review our terms of use for notification guidelines. Violations may include:
- Generating materials that incorporate characters or other creative materials that you don’t own
- Uploading a picture that you found online and don’t have any rights in
- Using the logos or other materials of a brand without the brand’s authorization
Violate people’s privacy, including:
- Use of a person’s name, voice, signature, photograph, or likeness for any reason without their consent or as otherwise authorized by law
- Creating or distributing non consensual intimate imagery (NCII) or facilitating or conducting sextortion
- Tracking or monitoring a person without their consent
- Classifying individuals based on protected characteristics
- Unlawful collection or disclosure of personal identifiable information or educational, financial, or other protected records
Provide legal, medical, or financial advice without implementing additional safety measures and providing adequate disclosures to customers.
Reporting and enforcement
Continual uses various methods to determine whether users are following these policies. We also encourage and appreciate user reports of violations, suspected violations, or unexpected model behavior. Reports may be sent to support@continual.ai.
If we discover that your product or usage is violating our usage policies, the following may happen:
- We ask you to make changes to your product or usage while continuing to use Continual
- We suspend your account pending changes to your product or usage
- We terminate your account
- We issue a report to the relevant government authorities
